Healthie product update for fall 2024
Discover Healthie's latest product updates from Q3 2024, including new billing and scheduling features, HITRUST certification, API improvements, and marketplace expansions.
Healthie’s promise is to build tools that enable providers to deliver virtual-first, recurring, collaborative healthcare. In recent years, our customers have led the way in recognizing the importance of fostering longitudinal relationships between providers and care recipients.
Since our inception in 2016, our goal has been to support their mission by empowering them to focus on clinical care and outcomes rather than backend infrastructure. It has been incredible to see the growth we’ve experienced as we’ve welcomed new customers, partnerships, and team members who all share this common mission.
As Q3 2024 draws to a close, we wanted to reflect on what we’ve accomplished this past quarter and what we’re planning to achieve during the remainder of 2024.
At the beginning of 2024, we identified three key themes as priorities for our work in support of our customers:
- Clinical Excellence: Optimize clinician workflows to reduce clicks
- Billing: Enable our customers to bill in all the ways that make sense (e.g., FFS, Cash Pay, VBC)
- Administrators: Continue adding permissions, audit logs, and reports for Clin Ops admins
On top of these three themes, we have continued to over-invest in the table stakes:
- Continue to outperform our site speed & performance SLAs
- Deliver a bug-free, intuitive experience (we’ve seen a 47% net bug reduction YTD with 86% Customer Support Satisfaction)
- Expand Healthie’s Marketplace (Healthie Harbor)
These themes are guided by the 24,000 providers, administrators, clients (9.7 million patient records on Healthie), and developers (who make > 1 billion API calls to Healthie each month) that leverage Healthie every day to improve healthcare access and outcomes through recurring and collaborative care outside of the hospital.
A look back at Q3 2024
From significant feature launches to obtaining industry-recognized certifications, here’s a snapshot of just some of the key milestones we’ve achieved, setting the stage for even greater advancements in the months to come.
1. Launched Innovative Billing and Scheduling Features to Make Administrative Workflows Even More Seamless
Notable feature releases include:
- Made parent organization member permission templates available to sub organizations.
- Launched new checkpoints to prevent double booking appointments and easily find new alternative times when scheduling.
- Enabled Automatic Charging for Late Cancellation and No-show Appointments
- Refreshed the Client Package Header to improve design making it easier to view, save, and filter client packages options.
2. Achieved HITRUST Certification to Further Demonstrate Our Commitment to Security and Compliance
Healthie has now achieved HITRUST R2 Certification, reflecting our dedication to best in class security and compliance practices for care delivery. HITRUST, or the Health Information Trust Alliance, offers a framework to help organizations protect sensitive data and manage security risks, with the R2 certification being the most rigorous. This milestone adds to our already comprehensive suite of security and compliance frameworks, which includes HIPAA, SOC 2 Type 2, GDPR, and ONC Certified Health IT.
Healthie’s HITRUST certification is another important demonstration of Healthie’s commitment to our customers and the importance we place on building trust within the Healthcare system.
3. Enabled New Permission Settings to Empower Administrators
Notable feature releases include:
- Updated the "Can be added as a care team" permission for organization members to adjust organization member client access and visibility
- Updated settings for package pricing so that if the price set for a package is adjusted, clients already enrolled in the package will maintain their original price.
- Updated the “Shares packages with the entire organization” permission to allow a provider to be assigned to any package created.
4. Continued to Build a World-class API Experience for Developers
Notable releases include:
- Upgraded Healthie's e-prescribing integration to DoseSpot API V2 to improve patient care and safety by keeping the database up-to-date with the latest medications.
- Enabled API users to easily retrieve patient IDs from DoseSpot, enhancing data access and integration.
- Adjustment to allow API users to set notification settings for their org providers via the API which allows for notifications (ie. package emails) to be enabled / disabled if preferred.
- Updated the API to ensure family history conditions added via API appear in the UI.
5. Expanded Healthie’s Marketplace, the Healthie Harbor
The Healthie Harbor is our app marketplace to connect Healthie providers with third-party companies and integrations. We have welcomed over 50 partners in 2024 to date and are excited to announce more who are currently building integrations to Healthie in Q4 2024.

As we move into Q4, we are excited to deepen our focus on advancing billing automations and enhancing clinical workflows as part of our commitment to creating a seamless, efficient platform for care delivery.

2. Submit a New Idea

Don’t see an idea already there? Use the Submit Idea button on the top-right of the Product Portal. You'll be prompted to provide a description of your request, and an importance rating, which helps our team gauge how critical this request is for your business. We use these ratings in our decision-making process when prioritizing roadmap items.
Closing Remarks
We wanted to take a moment and celebrate an accomplishment by our customers: Healthie customers have booked more than 10 million appointments using Healthie, which is a testament to the success of our customers in delivering important healthcare.
