We were so happy to meet many friends, colleagues, customers and new connections at HLTH in Las Vegas this year 🤝 This post shares some of our takeaways and highlights from the conference.

Before we get into the conference, we’d like to first acknowledge the tragic loss of life in the Middle East that started about the same time as the conference. At Healthie, we support humanity and peace for all and are saddened about the tragic loss of life and stability in the region.

Overall punchlines:

HLTH, once again, showed it had the energy⚡ for all the innovators in the room. Digital health overall is still in its first inning ⚾ of transformation, and we’re so excited to see what’s to come in the next 1, 2, and 5 years. Startups, partners, and investors alike were excited about building companies that will make real change in the industry, for the long haul.

A tougher fundraising environment than years past is pushing companies to build towards profitability, evaluate new and additional business models, and collaborate with each other. Now is healthcare’s moment to truly listen to customers and build together👷

For Healthie, it was so special and heartwarming 💕 to see so many of our current customers and partners. (Pics below 📷)! We hosted and sponsored several events, including:

  • A dynamic behavioral health event organized by Solome T. (founder of Behavioral Health Tech) with leaders and companies from across the space. We were so happy to co-sponsor along with Two Chairs. It might’ve been the event of Monday night 🎉 with nearly 700 registrants!
*By the way, we’ll be at the Behavioral Health Tech Conference in November, if you’d like to meet, please email info@gethealthie.com and let us know!
  • An early-stage operator and founder-focused event with the Pepper Community and SVB 🙌
  • A customer dinner🍻 Broadening our relationships from zoom to real life always warms our hearts.

Conference takeaways:

2023 represents the Healthcare industry writ large, and especially the Digital Health industry, taking a turn away from hyper-growth towards profitability, steady growth, strong product-market-fit, and a focus on the “real” ✅ New founders and seasoned CEOs alike were focusing on demonstrating clinical excellence, proving ROI, focusing on distribution, and creating differentiated member experiences 👥, was felt across panels, speaker comments, and chats 💬 at booths.

Many companies were open and honest about the mistakes they made in  2021 and 2022 hiring too much, not focusing on core competencies and more. These are the candid conversations that will push all builders in healthcare to be the best, for the long haul 💪

There was a collective feeling that we bear the responsibility of innovation in healthcare, which means:

  • Always listening to patients👂-  many panelists emphasized the importance of incorporating patient advocacy, and patient experience, into business decisions. In our opinion, this is long overdue in healthcare.
  • Find ways to truly create value in your business - whether its providing value through innovative care models, proving strong ROI, focus on being the best at what your business offers 🏆
  • Focusing on what matters and not shifting priorities with the latest trends (AI was obviously trendy-topic this year). This conference, there was a feeling that it was ok to say “I’m not focusing on 🙅 right now”.

For technology companies (like Healthie): we say this internally all the time, and it rang true while we were at the conference: the only thing that matters is having the best product, and the best customer experience 🌟. Taking care of our customers, building strong relationships, and ultimately delivering value through our Product, is what it will take to win.

Especially in this new environment, relationships and community matter tremendously. We at Healthie are fortunate to be part of a broader ecosystem 🌐 of customers and partners that give us feedback/insights we couldn’t otherwise get. But even more than that, they give us the feeling of a collective, that we’re part of a broader movement making healthcare more accessible. It’s a feeling that we treasure.

Healthie highlights:

Healthie Booth #1742, meeting with customers, investors, prospects and friends! In addition to our pre-arranged meetings, we met 100+ new folks in the industry and learned about so many new collaboration possibilities.

As part of our marketplace showcase, we featured many of our marketplace partners in an “office hours” format, giving us a chance to highlight our partnership together and meet with mutual customers. Featured in this photo: Our longstanding partner, Fullscript, was a key part of our showcase

Healthie’s founder-focused event co-hosted with Pepper and SVB had over 80+ attendees. There were also many early-stage operators and investors.

Here’s a snapshot from Healthie’s customer dinner - it was amazing to see 12 of our customers, IRL - we treasure our relationships with these innovators in Healthcare and can’t wait to watch them continue to grow and succeed in their businesses.

Healthie co-sponsored the Monday night Behavioral Health Event at HLTH. We had a blast, and it was phenomenal to hear about the innovation, collaborative mentality, and desire to make an impact. Healthie serves as the EHR and scheduling solution for many behavioral health companies, and we had the opportunity to meet many customers at the event in person.

Launch, grow & scale your business today.
