How Healthie enables healthcare delivery - the way it should be
Healthie is proud to serve as the foundational platform powering the next generation of healthcare delivery. Learn how (and why) we think the future of healthcare will change over the coming years.
Healthcare is evolving rapidly, and at Healthie, we’re not just witnessing the change—we’re helping to drive it. Our platform empowers organizations to scale, innovate, and deliver care in a shifting healthcare landscape. Care is becoming democratized, moving away from traditional hospital settings and evolving into a more consumer-oriented, virtual-first, and longitudinal model. Patients across specialties are increasingly empowered to take control of their healthcare journeys, equipped with new tools and ecosystems that prioritize their specific needs and preferences. At the center of this transformation are the innovators – our customers – who are redefining care delivery in extraordinary ways.
We are proud to serve as the foundational platform powering the next generation of healthcare delivery. For nearly a decade, we’ve been thoughtfully building for the longhaul, with a steadfast commitment to shaping the future of healthcare. This is not just a privilege but a responsibility that we take seriously. We envision being an accelerant for this ongoing healthcare shift, supporting a future where care is no longer episodic, but instead virtual-first, longitudinal, and collaborative.
We’re building because we believe in the meaningful and positive shifts occurring. Based on the daily interactions we have with thousands of customers and partners, here's how (and why) we think the future of healthcare will change over the coming years.
1. Traditional healthcare is converging with wellness, and care is shifting beyond hospital walls.
Healthcare has steadily been moving beyond the walls of hospitals and traditional medical settings. This trend, accelerated by COVID-19, is influenced by multiple factors: changing reimbursement landscapes and consumer expectations, rising hospital costs, and the ongoing financial impact of the pandemic on healthcare systems.
Our customers are at the forefront of this shift, striving to deliver care in accessible and innovative ways that meet patients where they are. Virtual-first behavioral health platforms like Brightline, Plume, and Arise are pushing the boundaries of traditional mental healthcare delivery. With the adoption of Healthie’s EHR, these modern care delivery care companies are reaching more patients than ever before, and providing personalized care to patient segments that have been left out of traditional care settings. Companies like Plume for example are delivering trans-first care, supporting an entire segment of the population unable to receive the quality care they deserve. Collectively, these pioneers are building a foundation of an adaptive and accessible care delivery model, improving the experience for both patients and clinicians.
Other organizations demonstrate a similar impact – Oscar Health and Cecelia Health identified the gap left by traditional healthcare in chronic care management – particularly a lack of longitudinal and specialized care needed to improve long-term health outcomes. By adding virtual-first care alongside more traditional services, these leading organizations are not only improving accessibility to care but also enhancing patient outcomes – they are keeping patients engaged with their care, and building collaborative care teams including specialists like dietitians and coaches, fostering the right support for achieving health goals As more companies continue to pursue the opportunity to augment their traditional care services with virtual offerings, we expect to see a continued shift in care delivery, but more importantly, in health outcomes.
Healthie’s platform is designed to support shifting and evolving care delivery models. By reimagining classic healthcare tools like the episodic EMR, we provide solutions that are purpose-built for recurring, virtual-first, and participative care. Our product is intuitive for providers (minimizing clicks and maximizing efficiency) and user-friendly for patients (as seamless as their favorite social media apps). These tools empower our customers to deliver care that is both innovative and practical, with the flexibility to adapt to their unique care models and organizational needs – empowering providers, developers, administrators, and patients to all thrive in this new healthcare landscape – whether in private practice or in an organization of 5000 clinicians.
2. Tech stacks are evolving to support innovative care delivery models.
We’ve also seen a steady repositioning in how care delivery organizations approach their technology stacks. With the emergence of creative solutions, organizations were granted the power to develop highly flexible and differentiated models for care. In turn, the traditional “build vs. buy” debate has evolved into a “buy and build” approach, where organizations leverage modular tools to create customized solutions.
Healthie customer, Kaia Health confronted this decision when exploring solutions that both could seamlessly integrate with their native digital musculoskeletal platform and streamline clinical operations as they scaled. While some EMR solutions supported Kaia’s present state needs, they lacked the flexibility to support their long-term growth and innovation – one that prioritizes strong provider-patient relationships through consistent communication and member engagement. By leveraging Healthie’s APIs, scheduling tools, and sub-org functionality, Kaia has been able to spend valuable engineering and product resources on the differentiators that make them stand out in the market – an unwavering mission to provide exceptional care and medical innovation virtually.
Since their inception, companies like Mavida Health and Two Chairs have championed the idea that accessibility, quality, and specialization will ensure the best outcomes for their patients. By incorporating already well-built tools rather than building themselves, Mavida and Two Chairs have stayed true to what makes their companies unique. They learned that just because you can build something, doesn’t mean you should. Instead, by leveraging a flexible and personalized tech stack, companies can modify solutions as they evolve and focus their present-day resources on their differentiating factors.
We believe healthcare technology should be as adaptable as the care models it supports. Innovation doesn’t always mean starting from scratch – it’s often about enhancing and connecting what already exists. With configurable UIs and deconstructed APIs, our customers can create custom middleware, analytics, workflows, and so much more. We make adaptable technology to help our customers increase their product velocity while maintaining the personalization they need to stand out in a competitive market.
The more accessible, user-friendly, and interconnected our platform becomes, the more our customers can focus on delivering exceptional care. It’s for that reason that we keenly focus on what we can control: providing the technology infrastructure that allows our customers to innovate, launch, and scale their care delivery models.
H2: 3. Care delivery scope is shifting, requiring incredible patient experiences.
Our customers are redefining what it means to deliver care. Care delivery is no longer limited to charting and billing, today’s innovators are instead focused on providing holistic, whole-person care and seamless patient experiences. This expanded scope requires a comprehensive suite of tools – from intake and scheduling to virtual visits, engagement tools and collaborative care workflows – and organizations are looking for out-of-the-box solutions to further their care delivery progression. As new clinical models are coupled with more established approaches, we’re witnessing an acceleration of improved patient outcomes and care.
Found, which recently gained in-network coverage for 100 million lives, is transforming how healthcare is delivered. By offering personalized support, telehealth, and a broad formulary of medications, they are addressing the cost and accessibility barriers that often cause patients to discontinue care.
Found, like so many of our customers, see a limitation in the healthcare space and are compelled to resolve it. These organizations are developing original and comprehensive approaches to push the field forward to more accessible, virtual, and longitudinal models. And they are successfully breaking down the traditional limitations of in-person treatment with personalization and affordability.
Similarly, organizations like Berry Street, Nourish, Culina Health, and Swap Health are transforming the way nutrition and wellness services are being delivered at scale. Employing thousands of clinicians, they are expanding the reach of care to millions of more patients – through accessible and patient-centric approaches. And while not all care delivery companies are going to be successful, the ones that are will continuously evolve to build more personalized, cohesive, and exceptional patient journeys.
Healthie’s product is built with our customers’ evolving needs in mind. We’ve focused on creating a platform that combines breadth and depth, delivering the features our customers need today while anticipating the requirements needed to support their growth tomorrow. We don’t chase fads, and instead prioritize proven tools that genuinely empower our customers to democratize access and enhance the care experience. This means avoiding untested trends and instead, focusing on building features that create real value for providers, patients, and administrators alike.

Healthcare is too big a problem for one company to solve on Its own
Over the next 5-10 years, healthcare will continue to move outside hospital systems, driven by leading health tech companies like our customers. As these organizations scale, they’re adding more complexity, specialties, and capabilities – from direct-to-consumer concierge services to complex, specialty-focused models. They’re creating a new ecosystem of care delivery, where the consumerization of healthcare means patients are receiving the specialized care they want and need. Healthie is proud to support this shift by developing solutions that empower our customers’ vision in conjunction with our own.
The healthcare industry’s maturation is happening in real-time. As organizations layer new technology atop existing infrastructure, we’re continuously seeing companies make legacy services more accessible.
