October 2, 2024 - New York, NY - Healthie, an API-first EHR, patient engagement and scheduling platform, serving more than 24k clinicians and covering more than 9 million patient lives has achieved HITRUST R2 v11.3 certification. HITRUST’s risk-based 2-year certification validates Healthie’s commitment to showcasing compliance with key regulations and protecting sensitive information.
“Healthie’s HITRUST certification is another important demonstration of Healthie’s commitment to our customers and the importance we place on building trust within the Healthcare system,” said Healthie VP of Security and Compliance, John Norman.
This achievement places Healthie in an elite group of EHRs worldwide that have earned this important certification. This is the newest addition to an already robust suite of security and compliance frameworks achieved by the EHR including HIPAA, SOC 2 Type 2, GDPR and ONC Certified Health IT.
HITRUST, or the Health Information Trust Alliance, is a framework and certification program that helps organizations protect sensitive data and manage security risks. Developed by healthcare and information security professionals in response to HIPAA, it includes federal and state regulations, standards, and frameworks and incorporates a risk-based approach, helping organizations address security and data protection challenges through a comprehensive and flexible framework of prescriptive and scalable security controls. Offering 3 certification frameworks, E1, I1 and R2, the R2 certification requires adherence to the largest set of controls making it the most complex and difficult to achieve.
For organizations leveraging the Healthie platform as key infrastructure for their clinical operations, HITRUST certification is another important proofpoint that demonstrates Healthie’s commitment to industry-leading security & compliance aimed at protecting provider and patient data. Healthie’s customers are industry-leading innovators across Healthcare delivery verticals, including in behavioral health, women’s health, nutritional care, primary care, substance abuse, chronic pain, and weight loss.
“I am so proud of our team for their hard work in demonstrating Healthie’s commitment to security & compliance, as showcased most recently with our HITRUST Certification. This is one additional way that Healthie supports our customers, the innovators in healthcare, who work closely with health systems and payers,” said Erica Jain, CEO and Co-Founder.
