Salus Health needed both an intuitive platform and an open API to create the ideal patient experience.

Salus Health, a recovery program for cardiovascular disease and cardiophobia, was looking for a comprehensive solution that went beyond just an EHR. They needed an intuitive, virtual patient engagement platform to promote high adoption for their members. Co-Founder, Trung Tran explains that, “a great patient experience was top priority for us. We needed an intuitive user interface that made it easy for patients to engage with their care and for our team to navigate efficiently.” 

Beyond usability, Salus required an open API and seamless integrations. With plans to build their own platform, they needed a flexible system that could integrate with their proprietary technology and scale alongside them. After conducting extensive research and evaluating solutions such as DrChrono and Canvas, one of their clinicians recommended Healthie.

Healthie’s flexibility and open API enables Salus Health to build and scale its own patient application.

With patient engagement as a top priority, Salus Health chose Healthie as their EHR, practice management, and patient engagement platform. Beyond its robust feature set, Healthie stands out for its flexibility, customizability, and focus on virtual-first care. “API access was really important as we planned to leverage that to build our own app,” explains Tran. “Other vendors lacked the same focus on integrations– their APIs were sparse, and it wasn’t a priority for them." 

With Healthie, Salus successfully developed a fully integrated patient application while utilizing key Healthie features like EHR, scheduling, telehealth, chat, and session recordings. Salus have also begun leveraging third-party integrations through Healthie Harbor. “AI charting has cut down charting time by 80% for our clinicians,” notes Tran. As Salus continues to scale, they plan to integrate lab testing, a supplement dispensary, and additional features to provide a holistic care experience.
