2024 Year End Company Update

We’re consistently humbled by the incredible organizations that use Healthie every day to deliver care. Our customers are amazing, and in total have completed more than 10 million appointments on Healthie. Healthie is used by over 27,000 clinicians who work with millions of patients to deliver care in over 25 specialties within Healthcare. Utilization of Healthie more than doubled in 2024 and developers make over 1 billion API calls to Healthie each month, building innovative solutions on top of the platform. 

Healthie turns 9 this January, and we’re just getting started in our vision to power virtual-first, longitudinal, and collaborative care delivery. While we recently announced our Series B funding, we’ve been profitable as a company for more than half of our 9 years to date, and we build because we care about our customers and about making a difference in healthcare. 

As a result, we work hard every single day to deliver the best product and customer experience. We’re delivering a platform that empowers providers to deliver the kind of care that truly transforms lives: care that is proactive, personalized, collaborative, and centered on better outcomes for patients. A Look Back at 2024

Healthie released hundreds of new features in 2024, to support providers, administrators, patients, and developers that use Healthie. Each of these platform-users have specific needs and requirements, and supporting each user is at the forefront of how we thought about our Roadmap for the past year. We believe that real success happens when we build a product that equally serves all of our users, and serves it well consistently. Our 2024 priorities were designed to simplify workflows, enhance care delivery, and empower teams to work more collaboratively together. Here are some of our Roadmap highlights: 

1. Identified and Closed Gaps in Existing Clinical Workflows:

We focused on identifying and closing gaps in existing clinical workflows. Our Product team diligently researched and uncovered opportunities to better connect core features to clinical workflows across the platform. 

  • Providers can now create prescriptions directly within the Charting screen for a more streamlined e-prescribing process. 
  • An updated E-Rx section now displays only active prescriptions, reducing confusion and clutter on the Client Overview page. 
  • Improved medication entry validation for custom medications.
  • Our E-Rx partner, DoseSpot, expanded their electronic prior authorization (ePA) network to include CoverMyMeds; Now when a provider issues a prescription via Healthie, the ePA system immediately checks for insurance coverage and authorization requirements, submitting a request if necessary, and rapidly returning a decision.
  • Release of E-Rx Self-Signup to enable providers and proxy users to self enroll in E-Rx (for accounts with this functionality enabled). A select release for this has gone live with a broader release planned for 2025. 

2. Enabled a “Pick your own Pathway” for Billing:

We advanced our approach for billing, ensuring flexibility in payment models like FFS, VBC, Cash Pay, and Recurring Payments. We also supported diverse billing methods, from in-house billers to third-party partners. Key improvements included automated billing workflows and an enhanced CMS 1500 experience:  

3. Empowered Administrators: 

We prioritized empowering administrators to better support their provider teams, whether in organizations of two or 5,000 users. We enhanced backend capabilities with features like user permissions, audit logs, and expanded reporting capabilities. These updates were designed to reduce risk, improve confidence in managing teams, and ensure seamless operational support across the platform.

4. Outperformed our Stability SLAs: 

We continued to outperform our stability SLAs in 2024, ensuring the seamless, behind-the-scenes performance our customers rely on. Healthie remained committed to delivering a smooth and dependable experience for healthcare-critical workflows, setting the bar high for both internal operations and external reliability. As a result of these efforts, we achieved a 47% reduction in bugs year-to-date, contributing to an 86% customer support satisfaction rating.

5. Rolled out Additional ONC Functionality: 

We rolled out additional ONC functionality to support customers needing features including: direct messaging, eCQMs, FHIR API access, CCDAs, and b10 electronic health record exports. As an ONC-Certified EHR, these updates ensured compliance with government standards for interoperability and meaningful use, enabling our customers to serve Medicaid and Medicare patients and receive full reimbursement for services rendered through Healthie. As part of our ONC Certification process, we’ve also added the following support: 

  • Ability to add implantable devices within the client profile. 
  • Providers can record, change, and access their clients' family health histories with a focus on the first degree relatives' diagnoses.
  • Providers can record, change, and access their clients' demographic details to help them better understand genetic predisposition and aid in holistic reporting.
  • Clinical decision support to warn providers when the value of an entry falls outside of the 'normal range' (for a1C, body fat %, weight, and waist circumference metrics). 

6. Continued to Build a World-Class API experience for Developers: 

We continued to strengthen Healthie’s API-first approach, enabling hundreds of tech-enabled care organizations to extend our platform’s functionality. By leveraging our SDKs, they created custom member experiences, connected Healthie to BI tools and internal systems, and even used Healthie as a fully headless EHR. We also supported dozens of builders joining Healthie’s Harbor as partners.

Our commitment to empowering developers remained strong throughout the year. We improved API discoverability, making our documentation more intuitive and self-serve, which helped developers build faster and more efficiently. We also enhanced API consistency, particularly in areas like pagination and sorting, with updates like clearer, more consistent error handling to save developer time. In addition, we focused on better communication of API updates, releasing dozens of updates weekly and exploring options to include API-specific release notes within our documentation, making it easier for developer teams to stay informed and integrate meaningful updates.

7. Expanded Healthie Harbor: 

We know that the right tools can make all the difference in healthcare delivery. That’s why we launched our app marketplace, Healthie Harbor, adding 50+ integrations with partners and launched several new partner categories. These integrations help you streamline your workflows and connect with other essential services, all within the Healthie ecosystem.

  • Ai Integrations - This year, we expanded Healthie Harbor with nine AI-powered integrations that streamline clinical operations and save time for providers and administrators. Explore our AI partners.
  • Billing Integrations - We introduced advanced billing integrations that streamline revenue cycle management, reduce errors, and optimize cash flow. Explore our Billing partners.
  • Front Desk Efficiency - New integrations empower front desk teams with HIPAA-compliant communication tools and seamless scheduling syncs. Explore our Front Desk Efficiency partners.
  • Patient Records and Data - Revolutionize how practices collect and manage patient data with tools that provide behavioral health insights and scalable remote patient monitoring programs.Explore our Patient Records and Data partners.
  • Care Support Tools - Care support tools enable providers to deliver personalized care and improve patient outcomes; these tools streamline workflows while fostering stronger patient engagement and adherence. Explore our Care Support Tool partners.
  • Interoperability- Interoperability ensures healthcare systems exchange data seamlessly, giving providers real-time access to critical patient information and enabling more coordinated, efficient care. Explore our Interoperability partners. 

8. Additional Feature Releases & Product Updates:

  • In 2024 we achieved HITRUST R2 v11.3 certification. HITRUST’s  risk-based 2-year certification validates Healthie’s commitment to showcasing compliance with key regulations and protecting sensitive information. 
  • We now offer the capability to add client portal access for linked client accounts; A primary use case is a caregiver having an account that is linked to a care receiver, such as a parent being linked to a child. 
  • We’ve made dozens of micro-improvements to our robust scheduling feature, from adding more time interval support to better viewing of the organization calendar. Healthie’s Scheduling Feature is designed to meet the unique needs of digital healthcare delivery and it’s our attention to the 100s of scheduling micro-features required to power companies like Oscar Health and Hinge Health.
  • We’ve updated the client actions tab with a refreshed color-coded design, flexible section-saving, and improved referring provider workflow. This redesign supports Healthie’s modular platform approach and lays the groundwork for future customization capabilities within the Client Profile.
  • A redesigned client profile on the Healthie mobile app offers a cleaner layout, customizable client tags, and quick notes support for efficient on-the-go client management. 
  • Improved platform legibility with a font update to enhance readability and accessibility for all users.

A Look Ahead at 2025

As we launch into 2025, we’re doubling down on what it means to build a high-quality product and ecosystem that delivers on what our customers need to deliver world-class healthcare at scale. Our commitment to delivering quality remains at the core of everything we do at Healthie. Quality isn’t just a benchmark — it’s the foundation of trust, innovation, and customer experience.  

By focusing on the quality of individual features, seamless cohesion across workflows, and an interconnected ecosystem, we’ll ensure that every interaction within Healthie exceeds the expectations of every user on the platform – from clinicians and their patients, to administrators, operations teams, and developers.

What does quality actually mean for Healthie in 2025? 

At Healthie, we understand that quality is what truly drives success and satisfaction. Our focus is on ensuring that our customers—and their patients—have the best possible experience. To do this, we’re prioritizing three key areas of quality in 2025:

1. Quality of our core platform & features.  

Healthie has thousands of micro-features - we want to make sure we've rounded out all edges, creating the feeling that you feel when logging into your favorite tool. It’s about holding every part of Healthie—from the smallest button to the most advanced feature—to an exceptionally high standard. This includes refining visual details and delivering thoughtfully executed new features. These thousands of micro-clicks and UI/UX experiences come together to create best-in-class tools that our customers are excited to use.

2. Quality of how features work together.

This is the quality of cohesion. Our customers depend on Healthie as a business-critical, care-critical platform, spending hours a day on our platform.  We know that Healthie checks all of the feature boxes that are essential for an EHR. However, we're running through and making sure that our features integrate seamlessly with provider and administrator workflows. For example, while we’ve built strong systems for automatic billing and insurance claims, we’re working to make it easier for our customers to see what a patient owes with just a few clicks.

By improving the cohesion of our features, we’re making sure that new tools don’t just add capabilities, but make existing ones even better – saving users time, reducing clicks, and ensuring efficiency. 

3. Quality of the ecosystem we build (aka Healthie Harbor). 

Healthie's developer ecosystem has more than doubled in the past year, and it's inspiring to see the creativity of apps, last-mile solutions, workflows automated, etc that our community is building. There's so much we can do to continue enabling this ecosystem, at the highest level making it easier for third parties to build into Healthie.

Healthcare is too big of a problem for one company to solve, and we love partnering with 57+ partners to build the next generation, API-first ecosystem. By making it easier for point solutions to build quality integrations, and by building some of these solutions ourselves, we can raise the quality of healthcare software as a whole. Doing so will have an outsized impact on improving the quality of care our customers provide.

Here’s how we’ll bring this vision to life in the year ahead...

2025 Roadmap Priorities 

We’ve aligned on the following priorities for 2025 - our product and design teams will be organizing work into quarterly roadmaps with details that we are actively finalizing. We’re excited to build upon our strong foundation and build upon our momentum to continue delivering for you. We’ve crafted priorities and feature updates that will prioritize: 

  • Empowering Administrators: Supporting administrative teams is essential for enabling healthcare organizations to function at their best, whether they’re managing two users or 5,000. With greater scale comes increased complexity—ensuring the right permissions, managing risks, and streamlining operations are critical to keeping care teams efficient and confident. In 2025, we’re introducing tools like waitlists for appointments and streamlined task management to give administrators greater control and flexibility, making it easier to manage operations and support care delivery effectively.
  • Supporting Flexible and Scalable Billing Solutions: At Healthie, we believe billing should be flexible and tailored to meet the evolving needs of healthcare organizations. Whether you manage Fee-for-Service (FFS), Value-Based Care (VBC), Cash Pay, or hybrid payment models, our platform is designed to support you. In 2025, we’ll introduce features like Insurance Billing Automation, enabling the automatic creation of CMS 1500 forms, and an improved invoice experience to enhance financial accuracy and streamline operations. We’ll also launch a direct integration with ClaimMD to support eligibility checks and claims management directly within the Healthie UI. 
  • Incredible Clinician Experience: Clinical workflows are essential to providing seamless, collaborative care. In 2025, we’ll continue to focus on enhancing key areas like the E-Labs and E-Rx experience and refining charting workflows. These updates will make it easier for care teams to work together, reduce time spent on administrative tasks, and improve overall efficiency. By streamlining these processes, we aim to empower providers to focus on delivering exceptional care while helping organizations operate more effectively. 
  • Shopify-Like Developer Experience: Healthie is API-first, providing developers with the same robust API we use to build our platform. This approach enables hundreds of tech-enabled care organizations to extend Healthie’s functionality—whether creating bespoke member experiences, integrating with BI tools, or leveraging Healthie as a headless EHR. Looking ahead, we’re enhancing API discoverability, consistency, and communication. Improvements will include more intuitive documentation, consistent pagination and sorting standards, clearer error handling, and streamlined updates through expanded API Release Notes.
  • New Products: Healthie is launching 3 new products this year, and over the course of coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more as we enroll Design Launch Partners as early adopters. At a high level, these new products will address some of the most pressing challenges in documentation, data management, and reporting, enabling teams to work more efficiently.

Click on an existing roadmap item in the "In Progress, Planned, or Under Consideration" stage. Scroll to give a rating on how important this update is for your business. You'll be prompted to include a description of your request, as well as to provide your email. Doing so will subscribe you to the item, and you'll be notified when a release goes live! You may be prompted to check your email to validate your request.

Why provide additional details? Your feedback allows our Product Team to better understand how you'll use this feature. It helps them when designing a request, and also helps with prioritizing roadmap items.

2. Submit a New Idea

Use the Submit Idea button on the top-right of the Product Portal. You'll be prompted to provide a description of your request, and an important rating, which helps our team gauge how critical this request is for your business. We use these ratings in our decision-making process when prioritizing roadmap items.

Stay in the loop on features you’re excited about by subscribing to cards in Healthie’s Product Portal. You’ll receive e-mail notifications as we make updates and when these features are released.

2025 Roadmap Priorities 

We’ve aligned on the following priorities for 2025 - our product and design teams will be organizing work into quarterly roadmaps with details that we are actively finalizing. We’re excited to build upon our strong foundation and build upon our momentum to continue delivering for you. We’ve crafted priorities and feature updates that will prioritize: 

  • Empowering Administrators: Supporting administrative teams is essential for enabling healthcare organizations to function at their best, whether they’re managing two users or 5,000. With greater scale comes increased complexity—ensuring the right permissions, managing risks, and streamlining operations are critical to keeping care teams efficient and confident. In 2025, we’re introducing tools like waitlists for appointments and streamlined task management to give administrators greater control and flexibility, making it easier to manage operations and support care delivery effectively.
  • Supporting Flexible and Scalable Billing Solutions: At Healthie, we believe billing should be flexible and tailored to meet the evolving needs of healthcare organizations. Whether you manage Fee-for-Service (FFS), Value-Based Care (VBC), Cash Pay, or hybrid payment models, our platform is designed to support you. In 2025, we’ll introduce features like Insurance Billing Automation, enabling the automatic creation of CMS 1500 forms, and an improved invoice experience to enhance financial accuracy and streamline operations. We’ll also launch a direct integration with ClaimMD to support eligibility checks and claims management directly within the Healthie UI. 
  • Incredible Clinician Experience: Clinical workflows are essential to providing seamless, collaborative care. In 2025, we’ll continue to focus on enhancing key areas like the E-Labs and E-Rx experience and refining charting workflows. These updates will make it easier for care teams to work together, reduce time spent on administrative tasks, and improve overall efficiency. By streamlining these processes, we aim to empower providers to focus on delivering exceptional care while helping organizations operate more effectively. 
  • Shopify-Like Developer Experience: Healthie is API-first, providing developers with the same robust API we use to build our platform. This approach enables hundreds of tech-enabled care organizations to extend Healthie’s functionality—whether creating bespoke member experiences, integrating with BI tools, or leveraging Healthie as a headless EHR. Looking ahead, we’re enhancing API discoverability, consistency, and communication. Improvements will include more intuitive documentation, consistent pagination and sorting standards, clearer error handling, and streamlined updates through expanded API Release Notes.
  • New Products: Healthie is launching 3 new products this year, and over the course of coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more as we enroll Design Launch Partners as early adopters. At a high level, these new products will address some of the most pressing challenges in documentation, data management, and reporting, enabling teams to work more efficiently.

Want to Shape Healthie’s Product Roadmap?

1. Add Feedback to a Roadmap Item

Click on an existing roadmap item in the "In Progress, Planned, or Under Consideration" stage. Scroll to give a rating on how important this update is for your business. You'll be prompted to include a description of your request, as well as to provide your email. Doing so will subscribe you to the item, and you'll be notified when a release goes live! You may be prompted to check your email to validate your request.

Why provide additional details? Your feedback allows our Product Team to better understand how you'll use this feature. It helps them when designing a request, and also helps with prioritizing roadmap items.

2. Submit a New Idea

Access Healthie’s Product Portal.

Use the Submit Idea button on the top-right of the Product Portal. You'll be prompted to provide a description of your request, and an important rating, which helps our team gauge how critical this request is for your business. We use these ratings in our decision-making process when prioritizing roadmap items. 

3. Subscribe to Portal Cards

Stay in the loop on features you’re excited about by subscribing to cards in Healthie’s Product Portal. You’ll receive e-mail notifications as we make updates and when these features are released.
