Challenge

Mother of Fact needed seamless data sharing to facilitate medical nutrition care

Mother of Fact needed an EHR and patient engagement platform that would promote collaborative care with external EHRs and providers.

Mother of Fact needed a HIPAA-compliant EHR solution to securely manage patient health information while facilitating strong collaboration with external providers, such as hospitals and Obstetrician offices. “We provide medical nutrition services, and there has been especially high demand for these services amongst at-risk pregnant women. Most OBs have limited nutritional support and will refer patients to Mother of Fact. We needed a solution that could handle scheduling, client management, and HIPAA controls, but also the business-critical task of seamless sharing of information with external EHRs,” says Dan Richards, Mother of Fact’s CTO.

Building an EHR in-house wasn’t an option due to resource constraints, so Mother of Fact conducted a market analysis, prioritizing cost, functionality, and market readiness. “We looked at multiple solutions, and Healthie stood out as the most advanced—offering core features, an open API, and the ability to white-label,” Richards explains. Recommendations from the digital health community reinforced their decision, as legacy EHRs like Epic were too large and costly for their needs.

Solution

Mother of Fact launch with Healthie’s refined and flexible solution

Healthie provides a robust and cost-effective platform offering unlimited scalability.

Mother of Fact recognized that they needed a solution that could support them at every stage of growth. “Healthie presented an opportunity for an early-stage start-up to launch on a platform with extensive features without a major upfront investment,” says Richards. Mother of Fact could have cobbled together a patchwork solution, but instead wanted to hit the ground running with a platform that would scale alongside them.

“Healthie offers refined functionality in a space that has been long-dominated by legacy systems that are out of reach for startups,” Richards notes. Today, Mother of Fact relies heavily on Healthie’s mobile app, scheduling, chat, programs, telehealth, charting, and reporting. Looking ahead, Mother of Fact plans to deepen its API integrations, leverage Healthie’s Harbor of marketplace integrations, and further customize the patient experience. Richards notes that “Mother of Fact is providing a very specialized service, and leveraging Healthie is allowing us to operate seamlessly while we build that unique experience.”

"I’ve been impressed by Healthie’s proactive approach—frequent check-ins, quick issue resolution, and a truly customer-focused experience. It’s also been exciting to see Healthie evolve into its own ecosystem, with a growing partner network and integrations that make being a Healthie customer more valuable every day."
